HC Deb 27 July 1925 vol 187 c28
49. Captain WATERHOUSE

asked the Prime Minister if his attention has been called to a recently published book on export credits and credit insurance; and if he will include within the terms of the newly appointed committee on export credits a full inquiry into the operations of the British Trade Corporation, with a view to ascertaining whether the corporation is carrying out the fundamental objects for which it was granted a royal charter?

Mr. SAMUEL

I have read the book on export credits, which, I presume, my hon. and gallant Friend has in mind. With regard to the second part of the question, I do not think that the suggested inquiry falls properly within the scope of the Credit Insurance Committee. I am unable, therefore, to accept my hon. and gallant Friend's suggestion.
