HC Deb 22 July 1925 vol 186 c2177
6. Mr. BECKETT

asked the Secretary of Stale for Foreign Affairs if he can now give any information as to the nature of the: divergence of views between the diplomatic representatives in Peking which led to the withdrawal of the French Ambassador from the Council of Three?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I have no further information to add to my reply to the hon. Member's previous question on this subject on the 15th July.

Mr. BECKETT

As the right hon. Gentleman then had no information, and as this is a very important matter, is he taking any steps to find out what the reasons are?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

No, I have not taken any steps to find out particularly what the reasons are. What I am chiefly concerned with is that all the Powers concerned should act together.
