47. Mr. FOOT MITCHELLasked the Prime Minister if he expects to be able, before the House adjourns and for the information of arable farmers, to state the agricultural policy of the Government?
§ Major Sir HARRY BARNSTONI have been asked to reply for my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture. The Council of Agriculture for England, along with other agricultural organisations, was invited by my right hon. Friend to submit proposals in regard to agricultural policy, and the Council appointed a special Committee to consider the question. The Committee is about to submit its Report, and my right hon. Friend has been asked to summon a special meeting of the Council of Agriculture on 6th August to consider the Report. He proposes there fore to await the result of that meeting before coming to any final decision.
