HC Deb 20 July 1925 vol 186 c1819
27. Lord HENRY CAVENDISH-BENTINCK

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the severe losses incurred by British breeders and owners of livestock through epizootic abortion, he will set up a special scientific investigation into the cause and cure of the disease?

The MINISTER of AGRICULTURE (Mr. Edward Wood)

Epizootic abortion has been fully investigated by a scientific committee, which issued a series of Reports in 1909, 1910, and 1913. The cause of the trouble is now definitely known, and an effective preventative is available. I am sending my Noble Friend more detailed information on the subject.

Lord H. CAVENDISH-BENTINCK

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the farming community have no confidence whatever in the right hon. Gentleman's "effective preventative"?
