HC Deb 20 July 1925 vol 186 c1837
53. Captain BOWYER

asked the Prime Minister how many resolutions he has received from local authorities in favour of the Bastardy Bill; and will he give facilities for the passage of this Bill into law?

The PRIME MINISTER

I have received a certain number of resolutions from local authorities in favour of this Bill, but the Government do not propose to grant special facilities for its passage.

Captain BOWYER

Is my right hon. Friend aware that the facilities to which I refer are merely the lifting of the embargo at present placed on this Bill by the Government Whips?

The PRIME MINISTER

That is implied in the answer, surely.

Colonel DAY

How many resolutions have been received?

The PRIME MINISTER

Twenty.
