asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the amount of public money paid as salaries, emoluments, fees, or as charges to the Law Officers of the Crown. or to other legal gentlemen who are Members of this House, during the years ending 31st March, 1922, 1923, 1924, and 1925?

I have been asked to reply. I am circulating in the OFFICIAL REPORT a statement of the amounts received by the Law Officers of the Crown during the years ending 31st March; 1922, 1923 and 1924. Figures for the year ended 31st March, 1925, are not yet obtainable. No figures are available as to the sums paid (which consist merely of the normal professional fees for specific services rendered) to other barristers who are Members of this House, as the payments made for such services are made by a large number of Government Departments and the accounts do not distinguish between payments to Members of this House and to others.
