14. Mr. ROY WILSONasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that the forthcoming ground-nut crop in Kano, Nigeria, is estimated at 150,000 tons; and if he is satisfied that the Government railway is now able to deal expeditiously with all produce requiring transport from Kano to Lagos?
§ Mr. AMERYThe Nigerian Government, in anticipation of a large crop, have purchased 12 additional locomotives 1932 and have taken steps to secure additional locomotive drivers to cope with the traffic. I hope that the resources of the railway will enable it to deal satisfactorily with all the produce offered for transport to Lagos.
