HC Deb 17 December 1925 vol 189 cc1619-20
60. Mr. CAMPBELL

asked the Home Secretary whether he can now state what answers he has received with respect to the representations he made to the Dominion Governments to the effect that a British woman ought not to lose her nationality by the mere act of marriage with an alien?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given on the 19th November to a question on the same subject by the hon. and gallant Member for the Totnes Division of Devonshire (Commander Williams), and I have no further information to add to that answer.

Miss WILKINSON

May I ask whether any representations have been made to the Dominion Governments other than supplying them with a copy of the OFFICIAL REPORT in which that reference is contained?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

They have been invited to express their views on the question.
