The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Baldwin)

I regret that I am not in a position to make any statement in regard to this investigation.

Mr. HANNON

May I ask whether, in view of the pitiable condition of these industries, any statement will be made during the Recess as to what the policy of the Government may be?

The PRIME MINISTER

I am afraid that I could not answer that question now. We shall go on with our investigations.

9. Mr. DIXEY

asked the Prime Minister if he can now say when the Re-port of the Research Committee on the Iron and Steel Trade with be forth coming?

The PRIME MINISTER

The Committee of Civil Research is a Committee of the Cabinet and will make its Report to that body. It would be contrary to established practice to publish the Report of a Cabinet Committee of this kind.
