§ 1. Dr. WATTSasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if the Factory Department of the Home Office is to be represented at the Fourth International Medical Congress of Industrial Accidents and Diseases, to be held at Amsterdam in September next?
§ The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. G. Locker-Lampson)No, Sir. I hardly think it necessary for the Department to be officially represented. We shall, in due course, have the opportunity of studying a report of the proceedings.
§ Dr. WATTSDoes that mean that, with the single exception of this country, practically every country in Europe is to be represented?
§ Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSONAs a matter of fact practically all the questions on Agenda Paper of the Congress are outside the purview of the Home Office, and I would remind my hon. Friend that, now 1703 that we have International Labour Conferences, there is not the same necessity for the Home Office to be represented at this kind of Congress.
