HC Deb 03 August 1925 vol 187 cc953-4
21. Sir GEOFFREY BUTLER

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether, in view of the fact that the tiles of the paving in the Members' Lobby, particularly in close proximity to the door of the House of Commons Chamber, have worn to a slipperiness that is dangerous, he will take some steps to make the surface safer?

Mr. GODFREY LOCKER-LAMPSON

The question of the repair of the tiles will be considered in connection with the Estimates for the next financial year.

Sir G. BUTLER

In the meantime, will the hon. Gentleman give instructions for a first aid ambulance station to be provided?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

I quite agree with my hon. Friend that the tiles are very slippery, and I will look into the matter.

Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY

Will the hon. Gentleman consider the use of prepared rubber instead of tiles?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON indicated assent.
