HC Deb 03 August 1925 vol 187 cc945-6
20. Colonel DAY

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether representations have been received from the French League for the Protection of Horses calling attention to the results to which the traffic of horses to the Continent gives rise; and whether he will consider means to check this export?

Major Sir HARRY BARNSTON

The reply to the first part is in the affirmative. With regard to the last part, my right hon. Friend cannot indicate any course of action with regard to this traffic until he has had an opportunity to consider the Report of the Departmental Committee, which he has just received.

Colonel DAY

Can the hon. and gallant Gentleman say when an answer will be given on the consideration of that Report?

Sir H. BARNSTON

I cannot say, but my right hon. Friend has just received the Report.

Colonel DAY

Will the Report be published, so that Members of the House can have an opportunity of seeing it?

Sir H. BARNSTON

I imagine so, but I cannot say.
