HC Deb 30 April 1925 vol 183 c331
11. Mr. WARDLAW-MILNE

asked the Home Secretary what numbers of prisoners at present in gaols in Great Britain are of ages from 16 to 20; and what percentage they form of the total number confined?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

Excluding Borstal institutions, there are 463 prisoners aged from 16 to 20 in England and Wales, forming 6 percent, of the total number confined, namely, 7,596. There are also seven convicts out of a total of 1,586. As regards Scotland, I would refer my hon. Friend to the Secretary for Scotland.
