HC Deb 18 June 1924 vol 174 cc2104-5
8. Lieut.-Colonel MEYLER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether his Department had any informa- tion of a recent visit to this country of Signor Matteotti, the Italian Socialist Deputy, who was kidnapped in the streets of Rome?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. Arthur Henderson)

I have been asked to reply. There is record of the arrival of one Giacomo Matteotti in the United Kingdom on 22nd April last, and of his departure on the 26th of the same month. I think this person is identical with the Signor Matteotti named in the question.
