HC Deb 18 June 1924 vol 174 c2105
21. Major HORE-BELISHA

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether, in view of the facilities afforded to Royal Dockyard employés to visit the Exhibition of 1861, and the privileges being granted by many private employers to their employés to enable them to visit the present British Empire Exhibition, and thus benefit from its educational advantages, he will favourably consider the possibility of granting similar privileges to the present Royal Dockyard apprentices?

The CIVIL LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Hodges)

I would refer the. hon. Member to my reply of the 1st May to the hon. Member for the Drake Division, and to that given on the 6th May by my right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for War, to the hon. Member for East Woolwich.

Major HORE-BELISHA

Has the hon. Gentleman noticed that the question relates to apprentices only, and not to dockyard employés as a whole?

Mr. HODGES

Yes.

Major HORE-BELISHA

Did the other question?

Mr. HODGES

It covered them all.
