§ Mr. JOWETTThe licence for the sale of refreshments in Kew Gardens does not expire until the 31st March, 1925, and I am not therefore in a position to review the arrangements at the present time. The difficulties in catering in an open-air establishment are very great, owing to the fluctuating demand due to the great variation in weather conditions, and I have every reason to believe that under such circumstances the service is satisfactory, and that, on the whole, the prices are reasonable.
§ Sir H. BRITTAINCannot the right hon. Gentleman find time to go down and sample this place himself? His predecessor some years ago did so, had a meal in the Pagoda Restaurant, and immediately resigned.
