HC Deb 30 July 1924 vol 176 cc2065-6
73. Mr. L. JONES

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what steps the Government takes to make sure that spirits exported under bond reach their appointed destination, and are not sold free of duty on the high seas?

Mr. GRAHAM

I regret that I am unable to add anything to the reply given by the Prime Minister to the hon. Member for North Bristol on the 16th July.

Mr. JONES

Do the Government take care to see that the terms of the bargain signed by the exporter are carried out?

Mr. GRAHAM

All inquiry is being made, but, as my right hon. Friend knows, it is a very large question, and would involve legislation.
