HC Deb 14 July 1924 vol 176 cc23-4
57. Mr. ROBERT RICHARDSON

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the extensive interests of Indians in East Africa, he proposes to appoint a representative Indian on the East African Committee?

Mr. THOMAS

No, Sir. The membership of the Committee has not been decided on any basis of representation of local interests. I have no doubt that the Committee will have ample opportunity of ascertaining the views of Indians on matters within the terms of reference.
