HC Deb 07 July 1924 vol 175 cc1765-6
50. Mr. HOGGE

asked the Prime Minister whether he will review the decision of the Government only to provide a limited number of invitations to be present at the forthcoming naval review?

The PRIME MINISTER

I regret that any unpleasantness should have arisen out of this attempt to see the Fleet. So far as His Majesty's Government are concerned, they would wish that every Member who cares might attend the review; but their benevolence is limited by the cost and by the problems of transport both by rail and ship. If the invitation were to be generally extended, a Supplementary Estimate would be necessary.

Mr. HOGGE

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that no unpleasantness has arisen, but that Members of this House are simply asking for their rights in regard to this?

82. Mr. BAKER

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty the total number of tickets which will be available for the use of Members of Parliament in connection with the naval review?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Ammon)

200 and 400 tickets have been allotted for the use of Members of the House of Lords and the House of Commons respectively.
