HC Deb 07 July 1924 vol 175 c1754
35. Brigadier-General SPEARS

asked the Prime Minister whether the German answer to the Inter-Allied Note on control of German arms has been referred to the Inter-Allied Military Committee at Versailles?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Major Attlee)

I have been asked to reply. The answer is in the affirmative.

Brigadier-General SPEARS

Does the Prime Minister think that this body is the right body for a matter of this kind, in view of the attitude of the head of that Commission, Marshal Foch?

Major ATTLEE

I must have notice of that question.

Brigadier-General SPEARS

On a point of Order. I put this question the other day to the War Office, and they said they could not answer, as a matter of policy was involved. I have now put it to the Prime Minister, and the War Office have given me the answer.

Mr. SPEAKER

The supplementary question does not seem to arise out of the one on the Paper, which was answered by the War Office. Any question involving matters of policy can be discussed in debate.
