§ 44. Major MOULTON
asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that the Medical Research Council and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research have recommended a course of research into questions of machine design, with a view to improving such design, so as to avoid unnecessary fatigue to the workers; and whether the Government propose to sanction such research and to provide funds for the same?
§ The MINISTER of HEALTH (Mr. Wheatley)
Arrangements for an inquiry into this subject have been made by the Industrial Fatigue Research Board of the Medical Research Council, with the co-operation of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research upon the engineering side. The investigation 459 is at present limited in duration to one year, and it will not be necessary to make any addition to the usual financial provision for the work of the Departments concerned.
