HC Deb 18 February 1924 vol 169 c1318
Mr. CLARRY

(by Private Notice) asked the Prime Minister what steps have been taken, or are contemplated, to maintain the unloading and distribution of food supply during the continuance of the transport dockers' strike.

The PRIME MINISTER

The Government will not fail to take what steps are necessary to secure the transport of necessary food supplies, and have already set up the nucleus of the organisation. May I add an expression of hope that nothing will be said or asked here to make difficult the only thing that really matters—a settlement of the dispute?
