HC Deb 14 February 1924 vol 169 cc1006-7
58. Sir GRATTAN DOYLE

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that at a conference of the Welsh Independent Labour party held at Cardiff on Saturday, 2nd February, 1924, a resolution was passed urging that the Independent Labour party Members of the House of Commons should prepare a Bill for a national minimum wage of £4 per week; whether he is in favour of this proposal; and, if so, what steps he proposes to take to give effect to it?

Mr. CLYNES

I have seen a newspaper report of the resolution in question, but the Government must not be regarded as responsible for expressions of opinion other than its own.
