§ 65. Mr. HANNONasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that the uncertainty as to the date on which the Regulations under the Milk and Dairies (Amendment) Act will come into operation is causing perturbation amongst those who are interested in the improvement of the conditions of the national milk supply, and that the majority of dairymen are postponing action until such time as the intentions of the Ministry of Health are known; and whether he intends to fix 1st July, 1923, as the date on which the Regulations will come into force?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINI assume that my hon. Friend is referring to the Milk (Special Designations) Order, 1922, which came into operation on the 1st January last. In accordance with the promise which I gave on the 13th March to my hon. Friend the Member for the Stone Division (Mr. Lamb) the Order has been revised in certain matters of detail, and I hope to be in a position to issue the revised Order at an early date. It is proposed that the new Order shall come into operation on the 1st July next.
