HC Deb 15 March 1923 vol 161 cc1774-5

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he can see his way to restore the land now occupied by the munition factory on Mabley Green, adjoining Hackney marshes, to its original purpose, namely, a recreation ground for the people, in the near future, especially in view of the serious shortage of playing fields in the district?

As stated in an answer that I gave to the hon. and gallant. Member for North Hackney on Thursday last, the whole matter is under consideration, and it is hoped that a decision will be arrived at shortly. I regret that I am unable to add anything further at present.
