§ The PRIME MINISTERAs I have already informed the house, communica- 1033 tions are proceeding with the Governments of the Dominions and India as to the proposal to hold a meeting of the Imperial Conference, and an Imperial Economic Conference, this year; but they are not yet complete. I cannot, therefore, give a definite reply as to the form of the Conferences, or as to their date.
§ Mr. GRATTAN DOYLECan the right hon. Gentleman give a definite assurance that the Conference will be held this year?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI cannot do that until we have had replies, but we hope that it will be held.
