HC Deb 26 July 1923 vol 167 cc693-4
38. Mr. W. THORNE

asked the Home Secretary if his attention has been drawn to the statement made by the Lambeth coroner in connection with the death of John Man Lockerby, painter, at West Norwood, who died from lead poisoning; if he is aware that the coroner stated that something ought to be done to prohibit the ever-present danger of lead poisoning: and if he will take action in the matter?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

I have seen newspaper reports of the observations made by the coroner on this case, and these include a statement to the effect indicated in the question. The whole subject is receiving careful consideration, and I hope to be in a position to announce the decision of the Government at an early date.
