HC Deb 05 July 1923 vol 166 c620
75. Mr. GAVAN DUFFY

asked the Minister of Health if he has received a letter, dated 25th June, 1923, from the clerk to the Urban District Council, Milled, relating to the cost undertaken by the council at the instance of the Ministry on three housing schemes which were subsequently stopped by the Ministry; and, having regard to the depleted finances of the council owing to a serious reduction in rateable value, if he will expedite the repayment to the council of the amount shown to be due to it in regard to the promotion of the housing schemes referred to?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of HEALTH (Lord Eustace Percy)

Yes, Sir, my right hon. Friend has received the letter referred to by the hon. Member, and a payment on account of the Exchequer Subsidy due has now been made to the council.

Mr. DUFFY

Can the Noble Lord say when the remainder will be paid?

Lord E. PERCY

I cannot say.
