HC Deb 04 July 1923 vol 166 cc425-6
54. Mr. R. MORRISON

asked the Minister of Health whether he has received any communication from the Welfare Association of the London County Council White Hart Lane. Estate informing him that the majority of the tenants occupying the post-War houses on the estate would welcome some arrangement whereby rent and rates could be compounded and collected weekly; whether he is aware that the local authorities concerned, while expressing their willingness, have been unable up to the present to come to terms with the London County Council; and whether he has taken, or intends to take, any action in the matter?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I have not received any communication on the subject from the association referred to, but I have seen a copy of the correspondence between the county council and the Tottenham District Council with respect to the collection of these rates. The matter is one primarily for arrangement between the two councils, and I should accept any satisfactory scheme agreed upon.
