HC Deb 01 August 1923 vol 167 c1457
40. Mr. SHINWELL

asked the Minister of Labour whether second fishermen, who are not wholly remunerative by a share in profits or earnings and who are paid daily wages with bonus on catches, come within the scope of the Unemployment Insurance Act?

Mr. BETTERTON

The second fishermen referred to would be included in the unemployment insurance scheme if they were employed under a contract of service. The question whether they are so employed depends on the circumstances of each case.
