HC Deb 12 April 1923 vol 162 c1277
24. Lieut.- Colonel HOWARD - BURY

asked the Minister of Pensions why the transfer of pensions from a deceased parent to the surviving parent cannot be considered after 31st March, 1922.

Major TRYON

In accordance with the decision of the late Government, following the recommendations of the Select Committee on Pensions, that further grants of pensions under Article 21 (i) (a) and (c) should cease to be made after the 31st March, 1922, the provision referred to lapsed so far as regards these classes of pension. But I would point out any surviving parent has the right to apply for a pension based on need.
