HC Deb 24 July 1922 vol 157 c10
5. Mr. GILBERT

asked the, President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been called to the statement that German passenger liners are going to call at Southampton for passengers and goods; whether there are any restrictions on any German ships entering British ports to-day; and, if so, can he state what they are, or whether German ships are free now to enter all British ports as in pre-War days?

Mr. BALDWIN

My attention has been called to the statement to which the hon. Member refers. There are no special restrictions on the entry of German ships into ports of the United Kingdom. There are, I believe, special restrictions in some other parts of the Empire. I will endeavour to obtain particulars of these and will send them to the hon. Member.
