HC Deb 24 July 1922 vol 157 c5
8. Mr. GALBRAITH

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many complaints under Part II of the Safeguarding of Industries Act he has received since 1st October last, which allege that goods are being dumped into Great Britain within the meaning of the Act in Clause 2 (1) (a); how many of these complaints he has referred to Committees for investigation; and what action, if any, he has taken with regard to such complaints as have not been referred by him to Committees?

Mr. BALDWIN

Five complaints in which dumping, in the sense of Section 2 (1) (a) of the Act, is alleged have been received since the coming into force of Part II of the Act in August, 1921. Of these, two have been referred to Committees; one was rejected on the ground that no primâ facie case was established; and as regards the other two, the complainants have been asked to furnish further information.
