HC Deb 24 July 1922 vol 157 cc18-9
40. Dr. MURRAY

asked the Prime Minister whether it is the intention of His Majesty's Government to announce at an early date the name of that principal representative of the British Government to the Assembly of the League of Nations in September, who shall give the British vote; and whether Parliament will be given an opportunity to give its approval of the names of the other proposed representatives or substitute representatives as being representative of the public opinion of the country?

44. Mr. W. GRAHAM

asked the Prime Minister whether this House will be given an opportunity of approving Great Britain's delegation to the Assembly of the League of Nations in September; and whether, in keeping with the spirit of Part I of the Treaty of Versailles, the Covenant of the League of Nations, there will be included in that delegation persons conversant with the aspirations of Labour and working women?

The PRIME MINISTER

The question of the representation of the British Government at the forthcoming meeting of the Assembly of the League of Nations is now under consideration in all its bearings. An announcement will be made before the House rises.
