HC Deb 04 July 1922 vol 156 cc178-9
24. Major GLYN

asked the Secretary of State for the Homo Department what are the figures for the months of April, May, June, and the first week of July, of 1920 1921 and 1922, of arrivals of persons of Irish nationality at British ports; what proportion of these persons have come to this country to take up definite employment: and what are the figures for the same period of Irish persons returning to Ireland from Great Britain?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir John Baird)

There are no passenger returns showing separately persons of Irish birth or of Irish extraction. I am therefore unable to give the figures asked for.
