§ 9. Mr. LAMBERT
asked the Secretary of State for War if the military authorities responsible are satisfied that Germany has reasonably complied with the disarmament conditions of the Treaty of Versailles?
§ Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS
My information is that the German Army has been reduced to the limit of numbers laid down by the Treaty, and that Germany has been effectively disarmed so far as war material is concerned. The Inter-Allied Military Commission of Control is however, being retained to deal with outstanding matters such as the reorganisation of the police.
§ Mr. LAMBERT
Are the military authorities satisfied that the Treaty of Versailles has been carried out in this; respect?
§ Sir L WORTHINGTON-EVANS
That is exactly the question I did answer. So far as regards the limitation of the numbers of the Army the answer is "Yes." It is also the case that Germany has effectively disarmed so far as War material is concerned. As regards the-police, the questions still outstanding are being dealt with by the Inter-Allied Military Commission of Control.
