HC Deb 04 July 1922 vol 156 c168
10. Mr. ERSKINE

asked the Secretary of State for War whether the claim of the Car Company, Limited, for compensation on account of the occupation of their premises by the Australian Imperial Forces between 16th December, 1918, and 3rd December, 1919, has been held up: and, if so, will he state for what reason the hearing of the case by the War Compensation Court is delayed?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

Much difficulty has been encountered in examining this claim. especially owing to the fact that the claimants varied their system of accounting three times during the three years 1918, 1919 and 1920. It is hoped, however, to submit the claim to the War Compensation Court in a form for hearing at an early date. Meantime, a payment on account has been made of £1,000.
