HC Deb 03 May 1920 vol 128 c1695
33. Mr. HURD

asked the Prime Minister whether the Franco-Canadian Commercial Convention has been denounced, and what steps have been or are being taken to negotiate a fresh arrangement?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

The Franco-Canadian Commercial Conventions have been denounced at the instance of the Canadian Government, and I am not aware whether the latter contemplate or desire the conclusion of a fresh arrangement.

Mr. HURD

Will the Government consider the desirability of postponing until the next Imperial Conference the consideration of this question, so that the joint negotiations by all the nations of the Empire of these foreign conventions can be dealt with?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

I think that is a question to be addressed to the Prime Minister.

Mr. HURD

It is addressed to him.
