Mr. MacCALLUM SCOTTasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the tables for Government life annuities are constructed so as to vary the amount of the purchase money according to the price of Consols when that exceeds £50; and whether, in view of the fact that the price of Consols is now under £46, he will direct that there shall be corresponding tables for prices of Consols below £50, thereby removing the disadvantage which at present attaches to this method of investment?
