Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe standard rate of duty on sugar in 1914 was 1s. 10d. the cwt. The present rate is £1 5s. 8d. the cwt., which is reduced by one-sixth in the case of sugar of Empire origin. The answer to the last part of the question is in the affirmative.
