HC Deb 02 March 1920 vol 126 cc235-6
32. Mr. BLAIR

asked the Secretary of State for War if the Netheravon School has been re-opened for the training of cavalry recruits; and, if so, could the Curragh, with its large area, cope with all the cavalry training?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The Cavalry School at Netheravon was re-opened in May last. The object of the school is not to train Cavalry recruits but to train in equitation officers and non-commissioned officers-who have some years' service. It would not be convenient, nor economical, to have this school at the Curragh.
