20. Lieut.-Colonel GUINNESSasked the Minister of Transport what was the cost of the special train and steamer which were provided to take the Prime Minister and other British representatives to the Continent for the Conference at Brussels?
§ Sir E. GEDDESThe railway company report that a special train was provided at the ordinary charge of 10s. per mile (£38), plus fares for passengers travelling between Victoria and Dover. The steamer, I understand, was provided by the Belgian Government.
§ Sir E. GEDDESI have no knowledge of that.
Lieut.-Colonel GUINNESSIn view of the excellent double daily service which runs to Ostend, does the right hon. Gentleman consider it economic for a party of 50 persons to have a steamer to themselves?
§ Sir E. GEDDESI have nothing to do with that.
