HC Deb 26 February 1920 vol 125 cc1888-9
21. Mr. RAPER

asked the Home Secretary whether he will consider the desirability of cancelling all pre-war endorsements on chauffeurs' driving licences for moderate offences in the case of all men who served in His Majesty's Forces during the war?

Mr. SHORTT

I am not prepared to introduce legislation which would be necessary for this purpose.

Mr. RAPER

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that a number of these men are unable to obtain employment? Furthermore does he not consider, in view of their services to the country, that they should receive favourable consideration?

Mr. SHORTT

The matter has been very carefully considered.

Major LLOYD-GREAME

Does it not come within the terms of the amnesty?
