asked the Minister of Transport whether it is proposed to electrify the Great Eastern Railway serving the suburban areas and for which at present no underground service exists; and. if so, when it is hoped that this will be put into operation?

The Great Eastern Railway Company have under consideration a scheme for the electrification of their suburban system, but it is not possible to state when it will be put into operation.
