HC Deb 23 February 1920 vol 125 c1291
42. Mr. HURD

asked whether the Government have been consulted in regard to the proposed legislation in the Canadian Parliament providing for a Canadian representative at Washington and defining his diplomatic powers; and what changes will these proposals make in the present use of the Colonial and Foreign Offices as media for communications between Ottawa and Washington?

Mr. BONAR LAW

Communications regarding Canadian representation at Washington have been passing between His Majesty's Government and the Canadian Government. A statement will be made in due course.

Mr. HOGGE

Is there any truth in the rumour that the President of the Board of Trade is going to Washington?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I do not think that that arises out of the question.
