HC Deb 19 February 1920 vol 125 c1013
35. Mr. DONALD

asked the Prime Minister whether the Government has taken into consideration the subject of the pensions of merchant seamen injured on service during the War; and whether he is aware that these men are not receiving the same financial assistance as those who served in the Army and Navy?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD OF TRADE (Mr. Bridgeman)

I have been asked to reply. The pensions and allowances payable under the War Risks Compensation Scheme for the Mercantile Marine have recently been revised and are now on approximately the same level as the Army and Navy pensions and allowances. I am sending my hon. Friend full particulars of the revised scheme.

Mr. HOUSTON

Will my hon. Friend distribute that paper so that hon. Members may know what is being done?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

I will consider that point.
