HC Deb 12 February 1920 vol 125 c197
11. Mr. LYNN

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he is in a position to state the decision of the Government with regard to the claim of Royal Irish Constabulary pensioners for increased pensions?

Mr. MACPHERSON

I regret that I am not yet in a position to convey the Government's decision. The claim raises important questions of policy affecting the whole public service, but I am in hopes that a decision will be reached at an early date.

Sir J. BUTCHER

Will the right hon. Gentleman bear in mind the very deplorable condition of these pensioners and demand some concession from the Treasury as early as possible?

Mr. MACPHERSON

I am bearing all those considerations in mind.
