HC Deb 12 February 1920 vol 125 cc205-6
25. Mr. A. T. DAVIES

asked the Prime Minister what economies, if any, have been effected in the administrative staff in Government Departments during the past three months; and whether it is proposed to maintain the Ministry of Munitions and the Ministry of Shipping?

The staffs employed in Civil Departments were reduced by approximately 11,000 persons during the period 1st November last to 31st January. The Ministry of Munitions and the Ministry of Shipping terminate by Statute at the expiration of twelve months after the termination of the War, or at such earlier date as may be fixed by Order in Council.
