HC Deb 10 August 1920 vol 133 c233
73. Sir THOMAS BRAMSDON

asked the Minister of Food whether 9,000,000 tins of salmon have been stacked in an old drill hall in Nottinghamshire since March, 1919?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of FOOD (Sir W. Mitchell-Thomson)

No, Sir. No such quantity of salmon has ever Been stored in the building referred to. As I stated on the 2nd instant, in reply to a question on this subject by the hon. Baronet the Member for Nottingham East, some 22,000 cases were originally stored in the building in question. Practically the whole of these cases have now been sold; the remaining stocks are in good condition.
