HC Deb 10 August 1920 vol 133 c233
74. Sir T. BRAMSDON

asked the Minister of Food how many Government food stores exist throughout the country; what is the precise contents of each store; and for how long the food has been stored in each case?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

The practice of the Ministry of Food has not been to requisition or acquire food stores, but to utilise such commercial accommodation as may be available. The food stores under the control of the Ministry of Food under tenancy arrangements or otherwise are very few in number, and the amount of food owned by the Ministry and stored therein does not exceed 900 tons.

Sir T. BRAMSDON

May I have the particulars of these stores?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

I will a inquire as to that.
